That is completely wrong !

Here is exactly what will happen:

Stage 1:

Early adopters will use AI to create more value in their jobs, reducing the need for employees in those sectors. (We are here now.)

Stage 2:

Most who didn’t adopt AI early will lose their jobs.

This will push them to find new work.

There will be plenty of opportunities: all the new AI data centres and robots will need maintenance.

Plus, AI will create entirely new jobs that didn’t exist before.

Stage 3:

People who couldn’t keep their old job or find a new one (from stages 1 & 2) will still have opportunities, with one exception: they won’t get to choose high-paying roles unless they learn to use AI themselves.

They will end up in jobs that are not worth automating because the cost of automation far exceeds the cost of human labour.

This is what I believe will happen.
